OK, now that I've seen that damn KFC commercial a total of, like, 352 times, I must ask the nagging question: What does "Sweet Home Alabama" have to do with Kentucky Fried Chicken?  I know those ad agency people do a LOT of coke, but really...

KFC specifically doesn't want to be thought of as "Kentucky Fried Chicken" anymore, and if they can further the dissociation in any way, they'll try it.

If Pete can do it...

so can Ray.

Saw an IBM commercial last night that used a cover (don't know who) of the Kinks' I'm Not Like Everybody Else.

Just remembered that this is not the first Kinks song to be co-opted this way--Picture Book turned up in that HP campaign last year.
Let's get right to it.

Dave Matthews' "Stay" is being used by the Virginia Tourist Board. Shouldn't they be using Bruce Hornsby?

I had to google that to find out WTF it was -- a Dunkin Donuts commercial, apparently. They don't advertise out here.

Don't think so, but when I was in England they had Santana's Samba Pa Ti on ads for...uhhh...cars? Food? Can't recall but it was an ad I haven't seen here.
Let's get right to it.
