Is the Imelda clip => Paul Simon a repeat segue?

I'm pretty sure I heard the Imelda clip, at least, a few months ago.

Diamonds on the soles of Imelda's shoes. heh.  Cute segue but another rather unnecessary track.
this song has one of the all time best fretless bass riffs.  I will admit to having sold the bassist a bass back then, and consider him a friend.  Listen!

Songs that quote video game sound effects are pretty rare, no?

"Wakka Wakka."

BOS to PSB.  I agree that the reboot of Pretty In Pink we heard here isn't as good as the orig.

BOSFRA to REM, too.

I'm reading the book about SNL called "Live From New York" and Paul Simon was pretty tight with the early cast and crew. He hosted the second ever show, you know;  Art Garfunkel came on and they did about four songs together in a sort of S&G reunion..  Paul himself did some other songs, too --  he opened the show w "Crazy After All These Years," for instance.  It was quite a diff show in that first season, esp the early ones.  More music, more standup comedy, more films...  I learned that Billy Crystal was scheduled to be on that first show ever, but Lorne Michaels needed to cut some time, and told Billy he could do shortened version of his act.  Billy's managers told him to walk and not do the show.  oops.

NOOOOOO!  uber-unnecessary: the Call.   Sheesh, talk about a SuperTrina.

A true 1986 10@10 selection. And what makes most of us hate that year.

I realize we're all radio and music geeks here but it's amazing how many people really think AL is free to play whatever she wants on 10@10.

'86 bonus track after the set, TH "And She Was" (came out in '85, but probably still charting in '86).  So this one sort of went to 11.

I haven't picked up on that from the book yet, but I'll guess Michael McKean.

Correct. McKean might have the title of most ignored cast member ever.
