Stand back: Peter Gabriel is hot under the collar.

is this The Nenah Cherry sampling The Bill Withers' Lovely Day?

ETA:  nope.  from wikipedia:  "2002: British DJ's Brancaccio & Aisher, sampled original song on their track "It's Gonna Be...(A Lovely Day)" (this version reached #40 on the UK Singles Chart[9] as well as hitting #1 on both the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart[10] and the UK Official Dance Chart)"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovely_Day_(song)

Wow, a dance track!

I'm guessing it's The S.O.U.L. S.Y.S.T.E.M. , from "The Bodyguard" soundtrack

The Black Crowes: taking the cake for unnecessary since 1992.
You're listening over the air, yes?   It's about 20 sec's ahead of the stream.

ROTFL! I have always found them supremely uninteresting. Never understood the love.

Can it get any more unecessary than Soul Asylum's Tom Petty imitation?

No, you're not spoiling (that's more a case of certain song selections) ;)

Hmmm, preferred yesterday's 2000 to today's 1992.  This set needs some King Missile to make me smile.

no, it cannot.

I like that INXS song.

BOS James.  There was a tranny folk singer who did a great version of James' Laid.  I saw her at Johnny Foley's about 10 yrs ago.  She hit all the high notes.

That was INXS??  I've heard it before but figured it was U2.  I like it too. & now I do recall seeing someone request it.  I guess the trick to get a request in really is to request INXS.   :P

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I do like the Black Crowes, though. Jane's Addiction, too. Most rock bands after 1970-whatever have been derivative, but a lot of people still like them, including me.

I'm with ya! there.  The Black Crowes aren't revolutionary, but they rock.

That's the one.  Probably wouldn't make it past the KFOG censors (even if it was all over Live 105 back in the day), and it's really nothing more than a clever little novelty song.  But I like it.

One time Big Rick back announced it as:  Mariah Carey, Unplugged.
