Dave sez it's our favorite year, but I'm hoping not. Got a meeting at 10:30, so I'll likely only hear half a dozen songs or so.

ETA: OK, cool. I can live with 1981.
Let's get right to it.

1981 sounds a lot better when we kick off with The Jam!

"Kick out the style..."

On Monday I'm usually dreaming about Friday...

this (i'm assuming it's) santana song and the "monday" have strangely similar basslines.

ETA: ok, until rollie started singing.

Not sure what you mean, but if it's singers, I believe Santana's lead vox at this time was Alex Ligertwood(sp?)

I remember actually watching it on TV "live" back in '81. I remember noting that he didn't say "worldy" as well. I remember thinking at the time: "I wonder if this invalidates the whole thing?"

And now I'm creeped out....

I rememeber that Diana got a couple of Charles' middle names switched around, and it was considered quie the gaffe.

well, it isn't nearly as foreboding as if he had *added* the world "worldly. but it is weird. still, it was his wedding day. he was bound to have some crows feet.

One of Ronnie the Popular's famous union-busting moves.  He had the entire population of striking air traffic controllers fired, permanently.
