Ronnie, the only union leader ever elected to the presidency, broke up the PAATCO (air traffic controllers) union and summarily fired everybody because they had a no-strike clause in their contract.  Of course the fact that their primary grievance was about unsafe conditions was lost on Ol' Mr. Teflon, as was the further fact that the consequences of his firing everybody made the whole situation much worse.

nice. thanks! maybe that's why hinckley shot him? maybe he just used the jodie thing as a cover-up.
