I went all three days and, as usual, came away feeling pretty lucky to be able to attend.

They were one of the mainstays of the No Depression/Alt Country movement when it first took hold in the mid-90s, but they declined (and even broke up for a time) after Mark Olsen left the band in late '95.  He's back now, so I have high hopes for their new record.  I'd recommend checking out either Tomorrow the Green Grass or Hollywood Town Hall if you're interested in checking them out further.

Thinking about it, I seem to recall her playing Hot Burrito #1 once before, so it may not be the bustout I thought it was. But no less great.

Just thought I'd tack this on.  Perhaps in the TANC category, or the YouTube category, who knows?  So, by coincidence I was able to hear part of the '69 set between classes, and happened to hear the Butch Cassidy jump scene.  Today...we had a weird testing day, so for the few students who showed up I showed a Due South episode (I always have Season 3 DVD set around!)  I played the "Mountie on the Bounty" episode, part 1.  I've seen this many times before, but today, I noticed something.  If you have 50 seconds, watch the beginning of this clip:

All this time I never put 2+2 together.   Paul Haggis is one of the original writers, so it's not surprising that they'd recycle some famous script!  The line at the 0:45 point is: "Does this conversation seem strangely familiar to you?"  So here, a dozen years later, I finally got the joke!
