Ya know, as much as I hate Newt, it's Santorum that really scares me. He's W without a sense of humor. And I mean that literally.

yeah -- Newt for better or worse has had a lot of his moral shortcomings exposed for all to see. Santorum strikes me as another guy who has deep dark secrets. As most folks who can't shut up about "morality" usually do.

The Washington Post editorial page has been on an anti-Santorum blitz. I wonder if they want to see Romney in the White House, or if it's the more obvious, don't want to see an unfit President, explanation.

The Washington Post editorial page has been on an anti-Santorum blitz. I wonder if they want to see Romney in the White House, or if it's the more obvious, don't want to see an unfit President, explanation.

The Times have been a changin' for The Post. They've been tilting rightward for awhile, especially on the editorial page. That's why I'm wondering if they wouldn't mind seeing the Establishment GOP choice Romney eventually end up in the White House, or at least want to avoid the presumed slaughter Santorum would suffer at the hands of Obama. They did endorse Obama in '08, but that was kind of a no-brainer. I realize that Wikipedia is not an authoritative source, but there are lot of sources cited within:

Well put.  I think we can all agree that Obama seemed to not swat Romney down with all the ammo and opportunities he had.  I'm not sure, but earlier in the day, the right-wing blogosphere tried to smear him as racist by releasing an old video.  Perhaps Barack is just doing the Jackie Robinson thing; he has to stay cool, even when he has the right to get angry.  It seemed to kind of immobilize him. How many fucking times did Mitt spew the $716B bullshit about Medicare?  Obama explained it once, and Romney never stopped riffing on it.
