actually Bob started the whole Rush renaissance rolling -- he plays them in every year they're "legal". and OFTEN.  I blame Chicago's nearness to Canada.

and as expected, Mr Miller boards a big ol' jet air-LINAH. OMFG! the "funky SHIT" version!!. Someone's gonna get docked an hour's pay.

Rush renaissance?  what do you mean?  they never really went away, despite that run of synth-laden records on the 80s-90s, most of which I don't know.  Some fans discovered the band during that run of "pre-classic era" releases.   

But it is interesting how "regional" music takes hold.  Perhaps I can credit (some would say "blame") my hometown's proximity to Toronto for finding out about Rush.  Their 2112 album came out circa 76 and a friend's older brother heard of it, then my friend brought the record to our class's "music day."  They always enjoyed prominent radio play on the AOR/headbanger stations back then.
