This will take a long time to load b/c there are a LOT of pictures being called from other sites.  But it is SO worth it.  Mad geniuses all around.

LOL.  The Led Zeppelin Presence/Jenga was inspired.  Also, the Bowie coulda had a V8 made me laugh.

SO many good ones, including those already mentioned.

I also liked the Weezer - SuperCuts, the Bjork - Banana Republic, Elvis C - RayBan, Nirvana - iPod, Lojack - Tarkus, and Going For The One - Church of Scientology.

http://www.thisdayinmusic.com/index.php - click the anagrams button on the left.

among many good ones:

David Essex = Sex Advised.

Michael Bolton = I'm the local nob.

George Michael = I come, he gargle.

Thom Yorke = OK to rhyme.

Assmussen uncovers the Winnie the Pooh "curse"...

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/06/29/DDASMUSSENBR.DTL

Saw that and had a good chuckle, then remembered that Sterling Holloway, who voiced Pooh, died quite a while ago.
Let's get right to it.

Was quite amused to see that article, too, particularly since Sarah & I had gone to the Alameda fair on Sunday, the day Starship played. Sorry, Gaz, we didn't watch them at all (although I was curious if any other original-ish members besides Mickey Thomas were on board--Donny Baldwin maybe?), but did hear the strains of We Built This City wafting through the trees. That wasn't our big reason for going in the first place--we just wanted some warm weather and a chance to check out the new miracle products in the commerce building. Oh, and also a chance to bet on a few horse races. I lost, but what else is new? Never had an eye for the ponies, but it's still fun.

It's been awhile since there's been anyone at any of the local fairs that I was truly excited to see, although about 10 years ago, the Marin fair used to get some pretty good bands--I recall seeing Los Lobos and NRBQ there ca. 93-94, but lately it's been more standard fair fare.
Let's get right to it.
