5 May 2011: It's... 1984!
« on: May 04, 2011, 05:02:00 PM »
In honor of Cinco de Mayo, Urth requested the Del Fuegos.  I requested Aztec Camera.  Both hail from....er...north of the border, to say the least.

Alas, there will be no Cinco de Mayo set, but a trip to 1984.  (Yay!)

Yippee, we're getting our 80s after all!  :D  She broke the ending in -6 streak, though.

Mister Miyagi and the Karate Kid waxes on and off to open the set.   That wrist action can come in handy.

... then REM implores us Don't Go Back To Rockville.

Hall & Oates sign up for classes at the Learning Annex.  aw, yeah! aw, yeah!

BOS!

Nice call - I didn't know anyone else remembered that song!

Listening from the beginning but just got to the computer. VHM Depeche Mode, People are People.

I love early REM but Rockville kinda plain. Grew up in the San Joaquin Valley so I always change the lyric to "Don't go back to Fresno", which seems much more relevant. Better songs from this album: Pretty Persuasion, Harborcoat.

Thompson Twins should have sold out to corporate America.. The result:

Sunset Grill was a Dave Katrina (Moreytrina?), right? It's just ok.

...and watch Don Henley get BOS.

As much as I love this Style Council song, it's verging on Katrina territory.
