...and watch Don Henley get BOS.
As much as I love this Style Council song, it's verging on Katrina territory.
I wonder if the SC is off vinyl, like in Dave days.

Wooo! BOS Bruce Cockburn, Lovers in a Dangerous Time... I know it's also a Morey frequent flyer but I love the song and man behind it. Talk about living out your convictions.

I remember when "If I Had a Rocket Launcher" came out, I was not impressed. And I was naive -- I didn't know what kind of a rocket launcher he was talking about.  I thought he was talking about a biiiig rocket.  That seemed rather silly.  But now I know; he's so much more than that song.  And a very tasty guitar player too.  Check out his instrumental CD.

This has turned into a very sophistipop set.  VHM to Joe Jackson.

I was living in Phoenix in 83-84 and recall when LA hosted the '84 Olympics they sent many of their homeless out of LA for a few weeks with free bus & train vouchers, many suddenly showed up in Phoenix.

Not impressed with this smooth jazz/fusion "What You Want".

I'm feeling like she's played the last 3 songs in a 1984 set recently.  Maybe I'm having deja vu...

Los Lobos close it out with a run-of-the-mill performance. One of those bands that never evolved.

well, they still play the blooz-rock stuff, but they've ventured off into lots of different territory, including Mexican folk music.  FWIW, they're a Deadhead favorite, too, and often include Bertha at live shows, esp here in the Bay area.    I've always liked them, I remember seeing them right about this time in DC at the Bayou club.  (however, they ignored my request to play Diablo Con Vestido Azul, dang it -- they did the song for the Eating Raoul soundtrack)  I like David Hidalgo's vocals better than Cesar Rosas' voice (Cesar sang the one we heard).  They should have been even more famous, IMO.

Agreed...no complaints here about repeating Thompson Twins, Depeche Mode, Don Henley, Style Council, & Bruce Cockburn.  BOS'ing the Hall&Oates, JJ & F2F songs too!

to each his own....but I beg to differ.  I was away from the computer, but heard most of this set the first time around & the whole set on Saturday, and I think this was one of the top ten '84 sets ever.
