I guess it makes sense to play U2 & Coldplay back-to-back.

It's at least appropriate to play KTT, as KFOG legitimately played a significant role in her breaking through in the states.

True, but not as significant as American Idol  :-\

Well there's your first break, and then there's your big break.  KFOG gave her the former when they had her open the Concert for Kids in Dec '04 before her album or single had been released.

A nice way to end the set!  BOS5 to my #29 song of the year.  My full top 50 live countdown will be posted whenever I get finished. (Probably in a week or two...and don't worry, there's no Jack Johnson.  8))

Was this big on KFOG?  I've actually never heard U2's "Magnificent" until now, though I know it charted on the Hot 100.

Yeah, they spun it in medium-to-high rotation for a few months.  They they dropped it in favor of IGCIIDGC. (which I'm glad she's not playing)

this is one of the most-played tracks from the album on KFOG

I almost never listen to KFOG outside 10@10.  Given what you guys describe, I don't suppose I miss much.

appropriate that we follow Coldplay's U2 imitation with the real thing. ;)

Damn, AL did a fine job with this. I always thought there should be a year-end recap on 10 @10, and then the year should be mothballed for a decade. But Dave never went there.

It just occured to me that the voiceover guy at the very end sounds like Jason what's-his-name from the Daily Show (Samantha Bee's hubby).

Big ups for the sounder at the end: "It's ten great songs from one...(pause)...decade. Well, the music was good."
Let's get right to it.

everyone have a nice safe night.  Gaz, if you ever stop in to Lansky's on the upper West side, http://www.lanskysnyc.com/ and you see a six foot tall waitress, it's probably my daughter Sonja.  Say hi!

I liked that song immensely; I just never bought it on iTunes.  Same with Pete Doherty's "Broken Love Song," which actually is my #1 song of the year.
