whoa!   Tina gets my vote for most 80s pop sounding.  The percussion production on this is so shimmery and brittle.  that snare!

Tina has but one entry in the entire DB prior to this: one play of What's Love Got To Do With It? in early 2003. Gobsmacked, I am.

indeed -- another HUGE artist that Dave inexplicably ignored.

forget that 10-way tie: WOS Glenn Frey. Proxy of GazWOS.

Entering what could be a very barren period on the charts, unless AL treads carefully. Safe to say we won't hear any Replacements or Husker Du.

Wondering what Radicaldigits is going to think of this set.

Easy WOS, Glenn Frey, You Belong To The City. Shades of Miami Vice. This is why the mid-80s bit.
Let's get right to it.

I'll jump in here, too.  WOS.  Wasn't this used in Mi-hammy Vice?

Now THESE drums and the synth bass line -- pretty dated!   See what happens when you don't use a real drummer, Glen?  I suppose Henley was snickering at this one.

Like Tina, GF has just one song in the DB, but his appears half a dozen times. And it wasn't this one. The Heat Is On was his only solo contribution.
Let's get right to it.

Good timing!  ;D

Lovin' it so far (Except for tune #1).  VHM to Rod Stewart's only song I can tolerate & BOS to Culture Club.

And I'm going to break w/ everyone and give a huge, uber-BOS to Glenn Frey.

Didn't AL play Tina "Better Be Good To Me" in that 1984 set after "Legs" by ZZTop? Or was that a different Tina song?

I think you're right -- the database hasn't been updated in a while, methinks.

VHM Kelsey Grammar, great intro to a middling song.

After Glenn Frey, it make Wang Chung sound nearly so bad.

My wife, however, is threatening divorce. 80s pop = very much not her thing.
Let's get right to it.

BOS3 to Wang Chung.  Hits 106 used to play this as a recurrent/gold all the time... though it annoyed the hell out of me back then.

And the WOSes just keep on coming: Sting, retreading his past hits in the coda of We'll Be Together.
Let's get right to it.
