Woo Hoo times two!  Visiting the '60s twice in one week -- amazing.

Thanks for that, Geoff -- awesome!  I want to hear anything from Richie Havens other than the oft-played "Freedom"

Question: will we get 10 perfs from the sndtk.... or will we get the trifecta of songs about Woodstock (Joni/CSNY, Melanie, CCR)?

not sure what Melanie and CCR songs you're referring to, but I wouldn't mind hearing Eva Cassidy's version of Woodstock.

Probably at least one of them--I'd guess the first, but not sure which version. And I'm hoping she plays Goin' Home by 10 Years After--it's been a long while since I last heard that one. Also Arlo Guthrie's ode to smuggling pot would be nice, as I missed it on the Sound earlier this month. However, since the Carlos Santana Commemorative Birthday Set was just a couple weeks ago, I think I can live without Soul Sacrifice.
Let's get right to it.

103.7 The Band has a Woodstock page on their website and they've posted that same song list.

If we don't hear JA's "Volunteers" I'll be most disappointed. "All right, friends, you have seen the heavy groups. Now you will see morning maniac music. Believe me, yeah. It's a new dawn!"

I think it would be hilarious if Annalisa played nothing but Woodstock '94 and/or Woodstock '99. That would be a good 4/1 joke.

not sure what Melanie and CCR songs you're referring to, but I wouldn't mind hearing Eva Cassidy's version of Woodstock.

Melanie's "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)" -- we were so close/there was no room/we bled inside/each other's wounds -- and CCR's "Who'll Stop The Rain" are both about Woodstock.

BTW, The Sound in LA are dedicating tomorrow's Album Sides Wednesday to Woodstock artists and they're also doing a Woodstock 10@10 on Friday. Wonder if Rob and Bob will follow suit.

I didn't know that about the two songs.  I always thought the CCR track was an anti-war tune.  Googling it brings mixed results.

Very cool.

Also of interest, particularly to Geoff, is the item about WNEW broadcasting the Dead's concert at the Felt Forum in December of '71, and the memo from Scott Muni that accompanies it:

indeed, Wiki seems to indicate that the CCR is about the Moratorium Day march on DC in Nov of '69.  I don't remember it raining that day, but it's possible.
