uh oh, Blues Brothers alert!

Maybe all the acts have been on Saturday Night Live?

I love the Blues Brothers, and the movie is a true classic.  I enjoyed seeing them on SNL and got "Briefcase Full of Blues", which is a great record.  A real record.

I enjoyed some of the first LP, and the movie is fun for the R&B cameos (Ray-Ray, Ree-Ree). But there's a lot of people who just hate the whole middle-class-white-guys-being-black vibe.
Well, those folks can just kiss my black white ass.  And don't forget the appearances by Cab and James.

I refer you to Gaz, the premier B-Bros-hater on this board.  But I heard "Rubber Biscuit" over the weekend and was reminded that it's really an awful cover of an awful song.

VHM to "Xanadu."  Speaking of bad movies from the period, I showed my friend Andy the Sgt. Pepper movie last night.

That's just mean.  Like, waterboarding mean.

According to the Db, the bustouts were:

   1.  Pat Benatar - You Better Run
   2.  Heart - Even it Up
   4.  Linda Ronstadt - Girls Talk
   5.  Siouxsie & the Banshees - Christine
   6.  Olivia Newton John - Xanadu
   9.  Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart
  10.  Blues Brothers - Sweet Home Chicago

surprised to find that "Xanadu" was a bustout, but in fact Dave only played 4 ONJ tunes & "Physical" was only as a HFH.  Both Joy Division & Blues Bros aren't in the Db at all.

I know Dave's ONJ-of-choice was "Magic" but I'm sure he played "Xanadu" at least once, out of the db's scope, perhaps.  I remember being surprised when KFOG played the ELO-only version of "Xanadu" during A-to-Z and thinking "but Dave played the ONJ version!"
