Enjoy a well-done 9-min montage of Michael's career from 1969-88, from the 1988 film "Michael Jackson: Moonwalker" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4vnr6jhVg8

"a will has been presented"...

See Michael's Last Will (8 pages):

"In the case that Jackson's mother were to predecease him (or was unable or unwilling to serve as guardian), Jackson stipulated that singer Diana Ross should be appointed guardian of his minor children."

I don't even know which emoticon to use.   :-X

I may not be interpreting this correctly, but I noted that Jerry Brown, as Attorney General of the state of California, is named as a party to be notified in Attachment 8 of the document (page 7). However, on the date that the will itself was signed, July 7, 2002, I don't believe Jerry Brown was holding that office. I think he was still mayor of Oakland at that time, and didn't become AG until 2006 or thereabouts. Not sure what's accepted procedure for these types of addenda, but it just seems odd to me.
Let's get right to it.

A very interesting contrast: compared to the all-MJ-all-the-time orgy of the past week, here's the 1970 obit of Jimi Hendrix on the ABC Evening News.  "You've probably never heard of this guy if you're over 30..."  It would be another decade before baby-boomers would start to control the media.

I believe the last three pages are attachments that were appended within the last few days b/c the estate is now in probate. Note they all say "PETITION FOR PROBATE" at the bottom.  I don't see any current date, though, so I assume some pages are missing.

rare MJ alert: The Simpsons tonite is a rerun of the ep in which Michael voiced the big fat crazy white guy who thought he was... Michael Jackson.

OK, first you have to watch this hateful NY GOP congressman, Pete King, spouting his ugly opinions about MJ:

And then you click this:

I mean... no further comment necessary (and I say this as someone who thinks MJ probably did what he was accused of).

I also think he did some of those things he was accused of (saying "he was found not guilty by a jury of his peers" doesn't convince me he's innocent), but Pete King is a little too much.

Part of my fascination w the MJ death is my hope that some answers will now be provided to all the bizarre questions that have been hanging around since he started retreating into his own mental, emotional and psychological Neverland -- sometime after Thriller.  I want tell-all books and such!   I want this mystery to be solved!  Then again, only MJ knew the real answers.

btw, I actually applied to go to his memorial but didn't get it:

"Thank you for your registration. Sorry, we regret to inform you that your registration to attend the Public Memorial Service for Michael Jackson was not selected.  Hundreds of thousands registered, but only a few can be in attendance."

I was actually relieved: If I had gotten a ticket, it would have been a logistic nightmare.

One man's logistical nightmare is another man's eBay bonanza.

I am acquainted with a woman who, for about eight months a number of years ago, was a production assistant on MJ's HIStory tour overseas. And a condition of her employment was to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) that kept her from talking for ten years. That expired a couple of years ago, and while I don't think she'd be the type to write a tell-all, I'm sure there are others who will. So you only have to wait, and probably not long.

Here's a blog post, written by a mutual friend, with a short narrative from her telling a bit about her experience without going into too much detail, and a photo of her with the King of Pop.
Let's get right to it.

Seeing replayed moments from the memorial today makes me sad. I didn't know Brooke Shields was good friends with MJ. Rev. Sharptons comments to the kids that their dad wasn't strange but had strange circumstances to deal with (or something to that effect) was touching.
Gone too soon.... :'(

I call that "denial" but that's just me.  Sharpton is as much a charlatan as any right-wing preacher. Don't get me started.
