-- but "Buddy Holly" is from '94, AL.

and it was a major Katrina in that year for Dave, showing up more than half the time.  Stilllove the song & the whole album anyway.  Maybe next time she can play "My Name Is Jonas".

And WOS for ubiquitous Clear Blue Something.  Or whatever the hell they're called.

Unparalleled WOS for Breakfast at Tiffany's--this is certainly one of the dumber songs ever written.
Let's get right to it.

BOS "Corduroy".  This was a great record if you were into PJ, but the clear beginning of their disregard for making themselves radio friendly ever again.

(the fluke #2 hit from a fan club record notwithstanding)

Not sure I'd agree entirely - I thought they were aiming for a hit with "Who You Are."

PS: I just checked Billboard: they charted 6 (!) singles before "Last Kiss"!  I don't remember "Tremor Christ," "I Got Id," "Long Road," or "Given to Fly," but I do dig "Who You Are" and "Better Man."

Wow, I had no clue they'd charted that much either.  I retract my comment.

Buddy Holly makes his '95 debut. I think Dave always played this in '94. Probably the closest to a BOS I'll get unless she plays one of the three bands I mentioned earlier.

Did this song truly overlap into '95 or is this a blatant error?

Something like TLC's "Waterfalls" or maybe some Montell Jordan would really balance things.

I think that's what they were aiming for.   I never realized this would get such unequivocal condemnation from the board.  I was just gonna go with a "Meh".

Phew, a great improvement from the last one.  McMurtry should rule on 10at10.

It probably lapped over--per Whitburn it first charted in mid-December of '94 and stayed for 13 weeks, so it hung on plenty long enough to chart in 95.

BOS2 to James McMurtry, Where'd You Hide the Body?

Apparently it did.  Album came out by summer of 1994, but according to Billboard:

1995  Buddy Holly - Mainstream Rock Tracks #34
1995  Buddy Holly - Top 40 Mainstream #17

Pleasant jangly production, nice vocal syncopation hooks, generally pleasant as long as you don't pay attention to the lyrics.  Kind of like chewing gum, good flavor, but not real food.  Meh.
