6 March 2009: OMFG, it's 1967!
« on: March 06, 2009, 09:19:09 AM »
given the pattern of the week, I'm guessing either '60s or a theme set; we haven't had a "classic" VT since Dave left. Maybe instrumentals? or the cowbell set again (that would be an unwelcome TANC).

ETA: I'm so happy it's '67 -- I ain't fakin' it!  (BOS S&G)

OMFG!  I am shocked at something done this right.  10-way BOS, no doubt, but nice to get that loosey opening to "Fakin' It" as TOTHK.

Based on the TotHK, this is either the first or one of the last '67 set in the DB.  If the latter it is also an "On This Date" set.

Can't begin to say how pleased I am, makes up almost entirely for not having been able to request smething from Dave personally.

Mike was too quick on the draw for me to have a jinx on H&H.

It is the latter.  A very soulful set, and a major rarity at Super Hit 6.

I don't think I've heard this version of "Knock on Wood".  Is this Otis and Carla?  Or Wilson and someone else?

ETA: She said Otis, and I believer her.

ETAA: And Happy Birthday, Mark!

Dude, if you're referring to 8/31/2007 and 8/18/2000, I just noticed--they have identical setlists.

But either way it's a GREAT set. Lovin' hearing Otis and Carla. Just caught a great PBS pledge week special that featured a Stax/Volt revue filmed in Oslo Norway in '67. No Carla, but Otis ruled the stage.
