I believe this is the largest number of posts we've had prior to the beginning of the set in ages. I'm hoping for Mother Nature's Son, myself.

The Earth Day sets always seem to be pretty good, cuz all the songs are at least 20 years old--they just don't write songs about saving the forests and gettin' back to the country and such any more.
Let's get right to it.

Who was it that made the really egregious cover of "Big Yellow Taxi"  Train or Counting Crows?  Either way if Dave plays it I promise I'll scream in mortal agony.

Counting Crows. But just give Train a little time--I'm sure they'll do something equally egregious for a movie soundtrack or something.
Let's get right to it.

Dave spilled the beans early, and is soliciting Foghead suggestions. The usual suspects?

Big Yellow Taxi
Where Do the Children Play?
Fresh Air
Out in the Country
Share the Land
???

Here's a somewhat accurate list of some Canadian actresses-

http://www.angelfire.com/ca/CANpride/canadians02.html

(I'm pretty sure Kim Cattrall's from England)

Pam Anderson. She's pretty hot.

Pedantic note: the Counting Crows' cover was aided and abetted by Vanessa Carlton, who provided "double damage" on the ooh-bop-bop-bops.

Pre-emptive BOS will go to 3DN's "Out in the Country," though while thinking about the song this afternoon I realized how painfully redundant the opening couplet is:

"Whenever I need to leave it all behind
Or feel the need to get away ..."

Yikes.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

The cover bites, but the track listing on this one looks pretty good:
