Singing standards is less taxing and quite lucrative.  But hey, his pre-Songbook catalogue is always there, like an old friend.  I'd've liked to have heard the Carpenters' version of RTB today.

RGMike is correct. It was indeed Happy Days (and the name of the ep was "Love and the Happy Days".

VHM for use of the phrase "Great Cesear's Ghost" in a rock song. Especially in a song about Superman (since that's what his boss would blurt when he was pissed).

LAS was vignettes of varying lengths; most were indeed contempo but the "pilot" for HD was something like "Love and the Fifties" -- Beej will know for sure -- and people liked it, they really liked it. And the rest, as they say...
