Thursday April 14--it's 1971!!!
« on: April 14, 2005, 09:43:22 AM »
Dave just dropped today's year--yippeee! It's long overdue!

(Btw, does anyone else besides me kind of long for the days when the year of the daily set was a big secret until the Big Wheel was spun?)
Let's get right to it.

when they first started running promos for the next day's year I was very annoyed -- it took the surprise away.  But I've gotten used to it and if it's a year I know will be crappy then I don't feel bad about missing it.  I long for the days when the most recent year was 1985 :D

If Dave's doing '71 today, then maybe tomorrow will be Tax Day after all.

Decent start with Blue Money. I remember thinking that Van copped the horn part on this song from the Sesame Street theme.

Blue Money is cool. But not as cool as green money.

'71 always makes me hope Dave'll pull out the legendary "Desiderata"/"Deteriorata" megamix.

Very nice obscurity level for "Albert Flasher".  I remember my parents had a single of this song when it came out, along with "When You're Hot You're Hot".  My brother managed to break both of them.  Hell was paid.

breaking a Jerry Reed record is just wrong wrong wrong. Good thing the princess isn't here to read about that.

Got me. But for a minute, Burton Cummings had the title of Most Obscure Lyrics of Set. Then the Yes song started.

"Hot color! Melting the anger to stone..."

Thanks! Yeah, I like it. Beavis is kind of a role model for me.

I made this- but the file size was too big. I'm going to try making a version of just Beavis thrashing.
