btw, I have an mp3 of the Oompa Loompa songs if anyone wants it.

Is appreciably different that the original version? I would hope they'd come up with new songs.

No, what I have is from the original, but if you recall there were 4 verses, each about 45 seconds long, that were sung when each of the 4 bad kids were dispatched.  This mp3 is just those 4 verses spliced together.

Beej, yours is on the way.

So, just for kicks I went looking for the Oompa-Loompa mp3 myself and found it on this page...

http://www.fozzy42.com/SoundClips.html

... which has a bazillion free mp3s of various TV show & movie themes.

Go. Before the fool gets shut down!

ETA: OK. OK. Not a bazillion. And some of them are wavs. But, there's a lot!

there are no coincidences: "Nathan Jones" again on CG. (right after they played Eric Carmen's "Hungry Eyes", I might add! Yikes!)

And speaking of Eric Carmen, I wonder what became of that Raspberries reunion that was percolating last year? I had hopes it would go well and they'd be on the club circuit this year, but no word so far.
Let's get right to it.

Having just been looking at that soundclips site that Beej found, I couldn't help but read that as 'Eric Cartman'.

I'd LOVE to hear Cartman do "Hungry Eyes". or "The Girl With the Hungry Eyes". Or just about anything, actually.

Beej, keep that avatar for awhile.

Thanks! Yeah, I like it. Beavis is kind of a role model for me.

I made this- but the file size was too big. I'm going to try making a version of just Beavis thrashing.

i hope that's a joke. :)

oh, two things i wanted to mention: during my one week in europe, i twice heard a song i never hear outside of my bedroom: chris deburgh's "spanish train." and the only time a band had a song on the charts and both the band name and the song name were palindromes? abba, "s.o.s." that's courtesy of klm rock radio...

I'm all for it.  I've noticed other discussion sites that use the same app we do, but have much larger (in terms of pixel-size, which I assume equates to file size) avatars. I'm all for it. Since we have only 13 members, it can't amount to a whole lot of storage space.

I'd like to keep the pixel size down, if that's ok, some of the other message boards are too avatarish for me. OK?

Whatever you say. While I can manipulate the dimensions easily enough (80 pixels by 80 pixels) I haven't quite mastered the "density" if you will of the various layers of an animated gif. So, while that B & B gif I made fits the dimensions- it's still too big.

The problem, though, if you make an animated gif less dense (as in- not as many frames), the animation becomes so jerky as to induce epilepsy.

As Run DMC so once sagely said: "It's tricky".
