I called in a vote for my favorite Turkey.

Is it one we've heard before, or a Turkey bustout?

I e-mailed him my choice--we'll see if it makes it.
Let's get right to it.

And I made my annual "Tarzan Boy" request; he played it 2 years go, but not last year.

I'll just assume we'll get "Hocus Pocus."

Just checked the Db, and the last 5 - I mean 6 - sets (2002-7) are all in there.  Only one song has appeared all 5 times, and no others more than thrice.  Can you guess the 5-timer? (hint: it's not "Hocus Pocus").  ((I can't count, 2002-7 = six years, not five))

I requested "Safety Dance" which appeared in 2002, but not since.  Dave said, "You got it!" so I hope he wasn't leading me on.

Surprisingly not.  I had assumed as much, which was why I was double-checking the Db in the first place.  "Mah-Na-Mah-Na" actually hasn't made the cut for two years running.

Which is why we're likely to hear it tomorrow.

Is the 5-timer Jungle Fever? (And, no I didn't look at the DB before I posted that.)

ETA: But now I have. And I see that I am grossly wrong. (Don't know why I thought Jungle Fever was a frequent turkey. It's most certainly not.) But I'll shut up now until someone gets the correct answer.

Dave doesn't consider that a Turkey -- he considers it a Masterpiece of Erotica.

It's never been in the Turkey line-up afaik -- or in Hits From Hell, for that matter (where it clearly belongs).  He's played that Clarence "Frogman" Henry song a couple times, tho'.

8.) Taco - Puttin' On The Ritz
9.) Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fighting
10.) Boys Don't Cry - I Wanna Be A Cowboy

Here's the Db of Turkeys since 2002.  37 different tunes in 6 sets, which for a Morey theme set should be far and away the most variety.

The Ultimate Turkey (5 times) is:
Chumbawumba - "Tubthumping"

Blue Ribbon Turkeys (3 times) are:
Focus - "Hocus Pocus"
Sweden Heaven & Hell Soundtrack - "Mah-Na-Mah-Na"
Trio - "Da Da Da (I Don't Love You, You Don't Love Me, Aha Aha Aha)"

Roast Turkeys (2 times) are:
Beatles - "You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)"
Blue Swede - "Hooked On A Feeling"
Boys Don't Cry - "I Wanna Be A Cowboy"
Carl Douglas - "Kung Fu Fighting"
Clarence "Frogman" Henry - "Ain't Got No Home "
Hot Butter - "Popcorn"
Lipps, Inc. - "Funkytown"
M* - "Pop Muzik"
Marcels - "Blue Moon"
Monkees - "I'm Gonna Buy Me A Dog"
Taco - "Puttin' On The Ritz"
Toni Basil - "Mickey"
Vapors - "Turning Japanese"

Turkey Stuffing (not good enough for a 2nd helping) include:
Baltimora - "Tarzan Boy"
Buoys - "Timothy"
Chakachas - "Jungle Fever"
Dave & Ansel Collins - "Double Barrel"
Dexy's Midnight Runners - "Come On Eileen"
Elvis Presley - "Teddy Bear"
Hot Chocolate - "You Sexy Thing"
Kool & The Gang - "Jungle Boogie"
Men Without Hats - "Safety Dance"
Murray Head - "One Night in Bangkok "
Nails - "88 Lines About 44 Women"
Paula Cole - "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?"
Pipkins - "Gimme Dat Ding"
Reunion - "Life Is A Rock (But The Radio Rolled Me)"
Ricky Martin - "Livin' La Vida Loca"
Ricky Martin - "Shake Your Bon Bon"
Sweet - "Little Willie"
They Might Be Giants - "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)"
Tokens - "The Lion Sleeps Tonight"
Trashmen - "Surfin' Bird "

*M (real name Robin Scott) is also an April Fool, but I didn't include him yesterday.
