10/14/08 – Tuesday!  Today it’s a Vertical Tasting!

1.   1964 – Manfred Mann – Do Wah Diddy Diddy
2.   1965 – Roy Head – Treat Her Right
3.   1966 - ? and the Mysterians – 96 Tears
4.   1967 – Jackie Wilson – Higher & Higher (BEST OF SET!)
5.   1968 – Crazy World of Arthur Brown – Fire
6.   1969 – Sly & the Family Stone – Hot Fun in the Summertime
7.   1970 – Sugarloaf – Green Eyed Lady
8.   1971 -  Lee Michaels – Do You Know What I Mean
9.   1972 – Bill Withers – Use Me
10. 1973 – Gladys Knight & the Pips – Midnight Train to Georgia

BONUS TRACK:  Ronettes – Be My Baby

Annalisa's giggly quiz question was "How old is VT honoree Scotty?"  And the bonus track choice was either The Ronettes (from '63, the year before the VT) or Billy Preston's Nothing from Nothing (from the year after).  The quiz weiner was born in '63, hence your bonus track as listed.

And a glorious Bonus it is -- nice to give that before-or-after choice.

Curses--had a dinner engagement in Portland tonight and we didn't get back until mid-Green Eyed Lady. Really bummed to have missed the first couple songs. At least one bustout in there I think--the Roy Head, natch. Has Do Wah Diddy Diddy ever turned up in a theme set before? If not, there's two. Have to see about getting up early on Saturday. But we're out late Friday night seeing the Minus 5, so what are the chances. Slim, methinks. Grr.
Let's get right to it.
