HM for the Doobie Loggins.

proxy of yacht rock for the princess of cairo. But I always associate this song with the hostage crisis, it was interpreted by some as a call for American "toughness" (even tho' it was clearly written prior-to).

What is Dave talking about "hoping that Journey would take it because of 'what's going on'"?  What IS going on?

they're playing sold-out shows at Concord this week, no?  Or maybe Dave wants Bush, Paulson, McCain and Obama to start lovin' and touchin'...

Ask Marvin Gaye.

heh, good one!  the Good Rats (from Lawn Guyland) opened when I saw them.

Peppy Marchello! they were a GREAT band.
oh yeah, the were fantastic... and they had some cool songs back in the mid-late 70s.  I have "You're Still Doin' It" in my mp3 heavy rotation.   Maybe not their best (Injun Joe and Tasty come to mind as better tracks, but I haven't found those yet).

"Injun Joe", I loved that track.  That was a "KSHE Classic" when I was growing up in St. L.

Wow, I'm impressed that they got airplay outside the northeast. They were seen as cult faves, HUGE on Lawn Guyland and unknown everywhere else. Their only major-label LP (Tasty, on Warners) was much-heralded but didn't sell or produce a hit, and they went back to indieville.  Ratcity in Blue, which I still have on vinyl, got some NYC exposure but they faded after that.
