BOS I fought the law - 1979? Didn't it come out in 1977?
But maybe 79 was when it was on the air.

No, I definitely heard this way before 1979, and I was living in St. Louis* at the time.  But I love the fact that one of the Crickets wrote the song.

Originally recorded by the Bobby Fuller Four, the Clash's version of "I Fought the Law" is perhaps the best-known version of Sonny Curtis' (one of Buddy Holly's Crickets) rock & roll classic. The song appeared on the band's U.S. debut, The Clash (1977); songwriter Curtis ( "Not Fade Away") says the version is, "one of my favorites." The band got the idea to record the song while they were working on their second album, Give 'Em Enough Rope; they heard it on the recording-studio jukebox.

*which is to say that I was highly unlikely to be exposed to this before the rest of the world.

Dude, what player are you using? That'd be a cool thing to have access to.
Living in Oregon, I stream 10@10, but I also use a demo version of iRecordMusic - I can scroll back and forth and record to MP3. Made several CDs with those great timely newsclips and commercials.

That sounds like EXACTLY what I've always wished for.  Thanks for the tip!
iRecord, Mac only format?

I guess so. There must something out there for PC

okay: I *think* the player that gets invoked when i click the KFOG stream is Quicktime, but I recall I have Flip4Mac installed as a QT plugin:
http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv_download.htm

it doesn't launch the external player: rather, it's embedded, but I checked the processes I have running and Flip4Mac is active...

What is Dave talking about "hoping that Journey would take it because of 'what's going on'"?  What IS going on?

Ask Marvin Gaye.

oh yeah, the were fantastic... and they had some cool songs back in the mid-late 70s.  I have "You're Still Doin' It" in my mp3 heavy rotation.   Maybe not their best (Injun Joe and Tasty come to mind as better tracks, but I haven't found those yet).
