I DON'T want to stream MAX. I don't think I want them to succeed in current we play 80's retreads format.

fave country lyric o' the day:

"I'd make love to you in a New York minute
And take my Texas time doin' it..."

Don't know who it was, but it was followed by Charlie Rich, "Behind Closed Doors". Now THAT'S country!

Trying a new stream: www.powerhouseradio.com -- classic soul. Tuned in for JB, "There was a Time", followed by... The Time. cute seg, wonder if it was intentional.

They also have a channel called "FabFourSoul" which is all R&B Beatle covers, all the time.

I've switched to wlng.com, where they're playing "Polk Salad Annie" for the 2nd time in less than 90 mins.

Lawd ha'mercy -- pick me a mess of it!

The whole style is old, not just the music! They just played some song called something like "I am the morning DJ on WOLD!" into "Fool on the Hill"

great local ads too!

er, that's "W-O-L-D" by Harry Chapin -- you'd never heard that before? A classic (and a VERY bad 45-version edit, it's a 6-1/2 minute song).

But yes, it's amazing station, a total throwback (and proud of it!)

That would be Harry Chapin, W*O*L*D, a minor hit that I only semi-enjoy.

But I enjoy it a whole lot more than "Fool on the Hill," which I actively dislike.

And now, right on cue, the Walker Bros song mentioned earlier, "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Any More"

sweet!

today's wlng.com gem: Sandy Posey's "Born A Woman". I don't think I've heard that in 30 years at least.

For those who listen to MAX: They've hired former Live 105 guy Web Fingers to be their morning man. Duuude!

I admit it. I have MAX in my car button pushing queue. When nothing is on I want to hear, I try MAX and stay if it's OK and flip some more if not. Female DJ in the afternoon. Didn't hear who she was.
