WTF!?  Dave! You can't only give us a truncated Saturday Morning TV Theme medley with only the Double-Deckers and Zoom.  That's just cruel.

VHM TOP, "So Very hard..."

Since this is a typical Foghead request list, I'm not expecting any bustouts.

This is not shaping up to be all that typical after all.  So far only Billy Preston had appeared more than thrice previously...

indeed, this is a not-so-typical Foghead we're dealing with here.  VHM "Wildflower", another Summer-of-'73 flashback for me, and an early David Foster composition, iirc.

Well this is yer bustout, bub!  Since you claim to knwo the composer I assume you can ID the artist, 'cuz I'm coming up with a blank even though my memory of hearing this as a 10-yr-old has me singing along with the lyrics.

Skylark -- white Canadians, as I recall. Tho' there was an R&B cover version -- New Birth, maybe?

It would appear the Skylark is the David Foster incarnation responsible for "Wildflower".

Shockingly, even "Drift Away" only shows up four previous times.  Is there a 4 times equivalent of 'thrice'?  If not we should coin one.

who *are* these people who send lists of 40+ songs and get their requests, no questions asked?

Aren't you glad Dave gave a lengthy explanation to your query?  Now all you gotta do is fork over the cash for a week's worth of ads and donate the time to charity, wait 23 years, and then You Too can have your dream set played in it's entirety!!!!!

Google confirms both parts of your answer.  Nice!

Dave has granted me a request or two...

and deservedly so!

But this the second time in a month that someone sent him a long list of songs and got 10 of them. I couldn't even get ONE the last time I made a b-day request, which is why I haven't tried since.

another VHM Isleys

I guess digging into your pocket to sponsor the show on behalf of a few non-profits will make a difference. Wonder what that'd run you these days?
Let's get right to it.

"quice"?

and indeed New Birth is the R&B "Wildflower" cover I was thinking of --even Kenny Rogers did it on a David Foster-produced album in the '90s. Here's Skylark:
