05/09/2008 - FRIDAY!!! An awesome set from...1967!!!

1.  Miriam Makeba - Pata Pata
2.  Bydrs - My Back Pages
3.  Country Joe & the Fish - Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die Rag
4.  Fantastic Johnny C - Boogaloo Down Broadway
5.  Tremelos - Here Comes My Baby
6.  Cream - Dreaming
7.  Bee Gees - New York Mining Disaster 1941
8.  Rolling Stones - Ruby Tuesday
9.  Animals - San Francisco Nights (BEST OF SET!!)
10.  Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
11.  Hollies - Pay You Back With Interest

BONUS TRACK:  Easybeats - Friday On My Mind

(NOTE: "Byrds" and "Tremeloes" spelled wrong)

And three bustouts in the set: the Fantastic Johnny C, Tremeloes, and Hollies songs were all first-timers in the scope of the DB

kudos to the birthday boy who sent Dave the list (all the more amazing since he was in his late 20's -- we should fix him up with Gaz!).  This is 2 Fridays in a row that we've had a set with multiple bustouts.

it's another for the "Brits writing cluelessly about California" set, along with "Kids in America" and "Beach Baby".

Ooh!  And "Sausalito Summernight"!

Diesel were Dutch, not Deutsch.  They morphed out of Kayak, which I still have a vinyl 33 of, featuring the song "Want You To Be Mine" that my bro Chris & I still love.

I had a feeling of deja vu about this, & in fact we had a 1968 set back in January that was requested by a kid named Shane on his 21st b-day.  That was the set where Dave played a clip of Da Mayor ranting about the Chicago convention, and Dave segued it straight into "I am the God of Hell Fire!"

I caught 3-11 in the original spin and only 8-9 this morning. I was (un)lucky enuf to hear 89 and 82 during my morning outings. I did like the earthquake clip.
