Yay for "SF Nights" - a bit of sudden cognitive dissonance for me, as I'm reminded of how much I miss SF, how in sync I felt with things, and yet unable/unwilling to go back while I've got the career track going so well here in NYC.

Meanwhile, there are about 15 Beatles songs from '67 I like better than MMT.

It's not a terrible song by any stretch; it just seems like a kind of blatant attempt to jump onboard a scene he's not terribly familiar with. I mean, just the concept of a "warm San Francisco night"--how often do we get one of those around here? Maybe once or twice a year if we're lucky? And some of his other lyrical references are kind of silly too--I know we've talked about the "American Dream, includes Indians, too..." line.

it's another for the "Brits writing cluelessly about California" set, along with "Kids in America" and "Beach Baby". But I still adore it.
