it better count as *one*. I'm getting sleepy, this is too much of an overplayed LP.

you'll recall this song was inspired by what a girl who did a school shooting said in response to "why?", "because I don't like Mondays"

I was in St. Louis, a junior in HS, and only remembered that it was in CA somewhere, sort of had it as San Diego all these years.  Thanks for the correction.  Still one of the very rare instances is where it wasn't a male who went postal.

Actually you were right--it was in San Diego. Wayback corrected himself before we could do it for him. The one in Stockton came sometime later--in the 80s?
yes, as soon as I posted it, I realized the girl was in San Diego and I believe the guy did the Stockton school shooting in 1988?

What is it about SD and major disasters?  There was also a big airline crash there (worst in US history iirc) during our lifetimes, 2 planes colliding in midair, and of course the McDonald's slaughter right by the TJ border.  When I lived there in the late 80's & was waiting tables at the Old Spaghetti Factory, one night over post-shift beers one of our co-workers told us of how he worked at that McD's, but was off shift when it happened.  But his best friend was killed when she sacrificed herself to save a mother and small child who were trying to escape the scene (they survived).

No wonder Dave started the set early. We were 20 minutes into the set and just ending the third song (assuming the PF is counted as one--which he's done before).
Let's get right to it.

Just noticed in looking at the wikipedia page that both the SD and Stockton shootings took place at schools named Cleveland Elementary. Scary.

However, I also noted that the column that details the number of fatalities is headed "High Score". Sorry, that's f***ing sick.
Let's get right to it.

VHM Sniffin' the Drivers Seat.

ETA: this has been played more than "IDTR", "IDLM" or janeyjaneyjane.

Yeah, I can, since I was just looking at the wikipedia page to see if I could figure out the name of the girl that my old coworker was friends with.  Must have been Margarite Padilla, based on the ages given.  She apparently had ducked behind the counter, but when she saw a woman and child trying to sneak out the door and James Oliver Huberty turning around and taking aim at them, she grabbed a coffee pot and hurled it at him.  So he sprayed her across the chest with his automatic as they escaped.  My friend says that he and many others were already at the scene behind police lines when this happened.  Most heroic thing I've ever heard related to me first hand.
