WOS John Waite/Bad English, "When I See You Smile" -- power-ballad dreck, no matter whose name is on it. He squandered whatever good will he had left with this one, IMHO.

ETA: I might've guessed this is a Diane Warren hackjob. (*shudder*)

OMFG -- BJ starts another fire.  I actually will take pity and VHM this -- I think it's cleverer than most folks do, as many HFH lists that it's on.

Oy. I'm withholding my BOS today. Only the Elvis Costello TOTHK is remotely deserving and I can't pull the trigger on that, as Veronica is far from being a favorite of his.
Let's get right to it.

Y'know, I don't think I'd mind We Didn't Start the Fire nearly as much if it weren't for the painfully trite chorus with its moon/june cliched couplets and that gawdawful falsetto. Feh.
Let's get right to it.

I feel ya.  I shoulda logged on to CG at 10 -- I'll spend the rest of the day with Saturday's CGSS. I have a hunch that Annalisa's bonus may make up for this charade, tho'.

well, "Voodoo" by the Neville Bros doesn't exactly float my boat, but the choices were mostly '89 frequent fliers (Dylan, XTC, the 'mats). So much for hunches.

Depends--how do you feel about the Neville Brothers? Not Yellow Moon, but Voodoo, another cut off that album, so there's a plus.

ETA: OK, as I suspected.

Let's get right to it.

for a brief shining second I thought that, since the quiz question involved "Veronica" we might get "My Brave Face"...
