Continuing an astonishing string of all-time-faves for me, it's the Supes, "Forever Came Today."

This is a *very* soul patrol inflected set...giving Mike et al even more reason to be sorry they're missing it.

OMFG!!!  Best of week to the Dells, "There Is," picking up where the Four Tops had left off at year's end.

And now the Four Tops pick up where the Left Banke left offe!
Joining late in progress.  I remember back in the day, trading my 45-rpm of the Left Banke's "Walk Away Renee" for something I can't even recall now, one of the few times I got rid of one of my records.  Also, saw Jack Bruce a few years ago at a Ringo All-Starr show and was quite impressed with his still-strong voice on Sunshine and White Room.

And, I remember in the 80's finding a perfectly good Jimi "Axis" LP under some junk in a neighbor's barn; cover and vinyl perfect. I still have it.

I'm surprised to learn that Jimi's "Up From the Skies" made the Hot 100.  Great, great set all around.

I'd have said that March is normally slim picken's for theme sets, but after today Dave is already on the record as owing me a SI set, and last Friday's b-day boy a makeup VT.  Add in St. Pat's & the first half of this month could be pretty interesting.  If it weren't a leap year we'd have had a Friday the 13th as well.

I imagine a SIVT from '68 through '77 or '63 through '72 could be quite interesting.

This doesn't seem right at all.  Can someone better versed in VU-ology confirm the year?

I know it as a 1970 track --- Annalisa needs more caffeine (or less, perhaps).

Hard to believe, but that was only the 2nd time the Mission Impossible Theme has appeared in my Db, and the 1st for a year-specific set.  (other was in last year's "Earworms" set, not in a SI).

2nd time as a stand-alone entry, but obviously it's been in more than its share of TV theme Medleys.  Still fab either way.

Fabulous stuff -- and with '77 tomorrow and (presumably) SI on Friday, this is a good week no matter what we get Thurs.

Lalo LOL!

happy 8500th post Gaz!

Thanks!  You must've hit 9500 yesterday!

more likely earlier this morning, but strangely enough I hadn't even thought about my total when I commented about yours.

And I'll likely get to 6500 today--six more to go. (Had I not been on holiday we'd probably have all hit our respective milestones within 24 hours.)
Let's get right to it.

Wow. That's all I can say. Wow.

So glad I got home in time to roll tape on this one, although I didn't get to actually listen to it until tonight. Short, as most 68 sets are, but 35 minutes of pure gold. Only one actual bustout (the Hendrix tune), but the Dells, Four Tops, and Lalo Schifrin tunes were close--second appearances in the DB. And no sound bites--aside from John Cleese and a few other bumpers anyway.
