Hour 2 begins with a couple of soul oscurities: Cornelius Bros "Don't Ever Be Lonely" and Mel & Tim with the looooooooong version of "Starting All Over Again"

uber-LN: "Listen to the Doobies"

BOS6 Danny O'Keeffe; VHMs Daniel Boone and Curtis Mayfield.

JB wit da long-haired hippies an' da afro-blacks -- BOS7.

VHM Donny O's sweet "Why"

Rod wears it well; Leon walks a tightrope; Rick N parties at the Garden.

uber-BOS8 Rick Springfield's forgotten "Speak to the Sky", one for the "Jeezus Rock" 10@10 we'll never hear.

I'm off to see Frankenweenie -- BOS-in-absentia for Neil D's "Play Me". I'll be spared "My Ding-a-Ling", at least.

Yes it's another double-dip on That '70s Casey: stations have a choice of Oct 16th 1971 or Oct 13th 1973. Odd.

http://www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/10-13-73.pdf

and Casey's '80s is from Oct 17th 1981:

So far it looks like Magic 98 will be doing '73 and my new Sat morning backup station WJER is doing '71. No word on our Canadian friends.

CKRU does '73; CKWS does '71  -- I'll stick with that, and catch '73 tonite on Magic '98.  2 great charts in one day!

JT leads off: BOS1 "Long Ago/Far Away". BOS2 Sweet "Natural" Lou Rawls!

I love the Tops but their cover of "MacArthur Park" is unnecessary. But uber-BOS3 Laura Lee, "Women's Love Rights"! Hear me, gurlz!

Damn it just gets better: 8th Day's forgotten "You Gotta Crawl (Before You Walk)" gets BOS4.

Marvin make me wanna holla!  VHM Delaney & Bonnie.

proxy of shray: Moodies. VHM Lighthouse; ditto Freddie Hart -- evvaday's Thanksgiving!

BOS5 the Dells, "The Love We Had Stays on My Mind"; BOS6 JB makin' it fonky.

BOS7 Kris Kristofferson , "Carly Simon's boyfriend" as Casey calls him.  The 5-D's cover of "Never My Love" was kinda unnecessary too but Ms McCoo does such a lovely job I'll VHM it.

Hour 2 begins with Tommy Roe's underrated version of "Stagger Lee". VHM.

Awww... Paul Stookey's "Wedding Song". Sweet.

"Where'd ya get the GUN, John?"  VHM the Guess Who.

BOS8 Mac & Katie Kissoon, who until a year ago I always assumed were white.

Ree-Ree, the Cat Man, Honey Cone... classics all.

WOS the Persuaders.

BOS9 Denise LaSalle; BOS10 Free Movement.

Checking out 1973 on magic 98: Mr Croce's got a name -- and a debut at #40. Looking Glass' *other* hit, "Jimmy Loves Maryanne" is an underappreciated gem; Miss Rubina Flake's "Jesse" is a Janis Ian compo.

The Osmonds always win me over in ballad mode: "Let Me In" gets a VHM.  Oh, now I remember this show -- Casey played the wrong side of the Marvin/Diana duet. Whoopsies.

Bobby Goldsboro loses his virginity. Ick.

uber-BOS1 Miss Millie, "Hurts So Good"

MJ & his brothas arrive. Get up off yo' high-horse, gurl!  VHM "GIT"

Hour 2: Conrad Birdie, er Conway Twitty, tries to revlieve a young lady of her cherry. He should team up with Bobby Goldsboro.

VHM Billy Preston's forgotten "Space Race"

uber-BOS2 Art Garfunkel's gorgeous "All I Know". One of the most brilliant pop hits that never ever gets played on Oldies stations.

VHM "Delta Dawn"; always a BOS3 for Bassetball Jones, oh baby oo-oo-ooooh.

"Give her a feathuh, she's a Chair-a-kee". BOS4 Rob Thomas Cher.

1981 Hour 1: BOC are burnin'; Billy Squier's in the dark; Barry M gets a VHM for liking old songs.

WOS Diesel: I can't believe this was a Top 40 hit -- I truly had never heard it until Dave Morey came along.

WOS2 the godawful Beach Boys "medley".

unexpected VHM, ARS -- "Alien", which I'd truly forgotten.  And forgettable is the word for the BeeGees misfire "He's a Liar".

ONJ begins her looooong chart stay with "Physical".

Hour 2 is pretty damn dull, esp if the highlight is Marty Balin's Scaggs-ian "Atlanta Lady".

...ah, but Hour 3 begins with "Hill St Blues" -- BOS1.

VHM Jarreau hands! uber-BOS2 Lulu, "I Could Never Miss You.."

uber-uber-BOS3 Kenny Rogers (with stellar backing vox from Gladys Knight) "Share Your Love". Easily one of his best singles.

update: CKRU doing '79; CKWS does '70, which is where I'm at.

Christie wade in the yellow river. Ewww.

BOS1 the Poppy Family's forgotten "Where Did I Go Wrong"

Tempts recycle "Ball of Confusion" on "Unite the World"

She took 2 Tylenol and now she's Freda Payne! I *love* "Deeper & Deeper" -- BOS2

BOS3 BS&T  -- Lucy you just so damn BAAAD!

BOS4 barefoot Linda Ronstadt and the gorgeous "Long Long Time"

BOS5 Candi Station's killer cover of "Stand By Yo' Man"

Hour 1 of 1986 has been a deadly-dull affair (Hornsby, Billy Ocean, a double-dip of Lionel Ritchie) but BOS1 Ree-Ree 'n' Keef on "Jumpin' Jack Flash".

WOS1: Peter Cetera/Amy Grant.  WOS2 Toto's "I'll Be Over You", which sounds like something Cetera turned down.

BOS2 Oran "Juice" Jones -- you just a squirrel tryin' to git a NUT!

VHM Tyrone Davis;  I used to work with a guy named John Valenti  -- but this ain't him at #38 with the Scaggs-like "Anything You Want".

BOS1 ED&JFC and the swoon-worthy "NIghts are Forever"

Salsoul Orch's "Nice'n'Nasty" is not one of the best examples of mid-'70s dico.

'82 Hour 1: Pointers so excited to still be standing, yadda yadda.

BOS ABC, "Look of Love".  WOS1 Air Supply -- "Young Love" is one I barely remember, probably because it peaked at #38.

VHM needy Paul Carrack.

BOS2 Ms Ronstadt with "Get Closer", one of her rare non-oldies

WOS2 Chicago, "Love Me Tomorrow".

VHM Supertramp's underrated "It's Raining Again".
