BOS4 Bryan Adam's Straight From The Heart.  Well, we all have our guilty pleasures, don't we?

his first hit -- if only it had been his last.  And with all that money you'd think he'd've cleared up his acne.

No, Lionel Ritchie, you'e NOT "My Love". And neither is your song. WOS1.

Dancing-on-the-sand HM for D-squared.

Barry Manilow's out-of-character "Some Kinda Friend" is some kinda forgotten 45.  BOS3 for sheer WTF-iness.

Stephen Bishop's Oscar-nommed "It Might Be You" from Tootsie might be BOS4.

First-(and last-)timers Oxo sing their OHW "Whirly Girl". Kinda surprising this wasn't bigger.

WOS2 Mr Loggins' "Welcome to Heartlight".  DUUUUDE! VHM Def f---kin' Leppard, man!

I dunno...thought that Rick Springfield song was worse.  Not by much, though!

BOS(Fab)5!  ((Swoon))
BOS6 The Tootsie song.  Gawd, how I love this movie!

W(TF)hirly Girl.  (???)
BOS7 DL's Photograph

BOS8 Back On The Chain Gang's "men straining under hard labor" sound affects, says Casey.  Why would it be the happiest days of their lives?

BO(MG)S9 the brunette from ABBA Frida be knowin' some shit.  Phil should've stuck with producing.  Probably my fave song of this set.
Ugh to Lionel Ritchie again.  OUTRAGEOUS, I tells ya!

Hour3: always a BOS for the fabulous Frida. One of Phil Collins' career peaks -- it was all downhill from here.

OTOH... Kenny & Sheena... Yeesh.

Yes & yeesh agreed.  Did Lionel Ritchie write this crappy ballad too?

Bob Seger, actually -- which gives him 3 songs on this chart.  BOS6 the late Ms Branigan, one I appreciate more now than I did at the time.

But here's Mr Ritchie again with "You Are". He ain't. And neither are Toto.

OMFG -- it's one of hers??  (her first, it turns out -- talk about peaking early!)

Ah, the Boy makes an appearance. One from my Best Of the Decade list.

And Mr Seger reappears, earning a VHM for "Even Now".  I'll bail before the Top Ten, which contains no less than 3 WOS/HFH candidates (Journey, ATF and Styx -- *shudder*)

2 Journey songs - just for you, RG!  Run, don't walk!

I was a proud member of the Culture Club fan club back in '83.  BOS10 DYRWHM?  Best. Drag. Queen. EVER.

Domo arigato?  Um, no thanks.  WOS Styx.

Oh, and BOSes to After The Fire (though Falco's version rules) & Dexy's and their overalls.  Don't turn around!

I could, at least, avoid Journey here. The damn AT&T Park sound system is playing "Don't Stop Believin'" EVERY DAMN GAME (except for one game where they played the equally bad "Lights").

I'm gonna miss this set, too.  Sneaking a peek, I'd give BOSes to "Two Occasions" by Babyface The Deele, PSB's fabulous cover of "Always On My Mind" and "Girlfriend" by Pebbles.  I'd pretty much WOS the rest.  A dismal time in pop music, IMO.

Sitting at JFK and logged onto CKRU in time for Gilbert O's "Out of the Question". A fabulous chart from my favorite year.

I said this last year, but as much as I hated "Daisy a Day" in '73, I now find it rather sweet.

Ain't no woman like the One-Eyed Gott! and Sweet Lou gets Caseys "Most unusual" award. Heh.

Do you happen to know what 80's year is playing tomorrow?  I'll be working and listening...
Welcome back (almost!)
