BOS3 OJ Jones, pullin' a Rambo. "ah gave ya things ya couldn't even PRONOUNCE! Silly rabbit, tricks are fo' KIDS! You without me like corn flakes without the milk!" We MUST get AL to play this one.

You forgot the best line in the song:  You're just a squirrel tryin' to get a nut!

Yes, AL must play this on her next trip to '86!  BTW, that Nancy Martinez song was HUGE in la Mission back in the day.  The low rider trucks would have that blasting from their back speakers, along with other Hi-NRG travesties.

BOS to the HoJo and Oran Juice tunes, both among the best of the decade, but a lot of fond forgottens, including the Pointers and Nancy Martinez (the latter of which was big on TBS Night Tracks).  Glad I had this on instead of Soma Fm Xmas.

WOS2 Billy Ocean with one of his interchangeable, I-dare-you-to-tell-'em-apart ballads.

I must disagree: I wouldn't want a steady diet of them, but these interchangeaballads are really quite nicely done and welcome changes of pace.  Same with Miami Sound Machine.

Kudos to Casey for playing the introductory rap on Bruce's "War". BOS4

VHM OMD; and I know Gaz & I disagree on Eddie Money/Ronnie Spector. BOS5 from me; one of my favorite singles of that year.

aaaack! we avoided Robbie Nevil the other day but here he is. C'est la vie indeed.

And I meant to mention that we heard the G-Sats' "Keep Yo' Hands To Yo'self" as an extra and it was noted that it was their *only* Top 40 hit -- how did "Battleship Chains" only get to #86??

Here's Chrissie Hynde in 1986, when her current boyfriend was... 8. And (TANC) she's followed by Gregory Abbott, who was once married to Freda Payne, who was 19 years his senior.

WOS3 Boston -- did they pick the name "Amanda" because they were fans of Dynasty?

Have you seen Chrissie recently?  Girlfriend hasn't aged one bit!
I love Take Me Home Tonight!  I also love that Billy Vera ballad.  Never liked Hi-NRG, but have a soft spot for Expose.  Go figure.

BOS6 Madonna's delightful "True Love", oh baby.  Have to split, so VHMs-in-absentia to "Human" and "Word Up". But I'm glad I'll miss #1, the uber-Christian coupling of Peter Cetera & Amy Grant. Ugh.

Oh, but to be fair, it was sweetly done, and AG wasn't pushing anything.  Having said that, wouldn't this get a nice Glee treatment?

If you don't see the Christian subtext in a song titled "the Next Time I Fall", well, maybe you're just overtired.  ;)  Cetera's a Fundie too, BTW.

And there's no such thing as a "nice Glee treatment". (*shudder*)

Wow -- not only do we start with Dr Buzzard, Casey pronounces it "byoo-ZAHRD", as it's supposed to be. I don't remember anyone saying it that way in '76; it wasn't until Dave Morey made a point of it that I was aware of the (mis)pronunciation. BOS to a still-fabulous track (VERY short version, tho')

aaack! Kenny Nowwan wikes dweamin'.

BOS2 George's "This Song" -- there's nothing "Bright" about it. Python members optional. And another severely-edited version; amazing it took another 2 years until they went to the 4-hour format.

BOS3 Tavares; VHM the Jacksons, enjoyin' theyself.

So they edit 2 good songs, but we get an endless rendition of whose-wine-what-wine-Frampton-whines. VHM the Bar-Kays' forgotten "Shake Yo' Rump..."

The Geo song mentions "copyright" -- *snort* -- i always appreciated that.

heh, the gf hates the Kenny Nolan song, too.   Someone should take away HIS music, to misquote Tavares.

ditto Lord David Dundas. Keep yer jeans on, you upper-class twit.

VHM Bread's brief comeback.

Hey everybody! proxy of Gaz, LRB.

If it walks like a (disco) duck and talks like a (disco) duck...  and this one's another severe edit (thank gawd).

Too bad the nice extended guitar solo is edited from the middle of the LRB's "It's A Long Way There"

VHM the Sylvers on the hot line; BOSes to whinyface's lovely BeeGees cover and Burton Cummings, standing tall. Meanwhile, the gales of November are a month late, Gordo.

Cheezeball MOR nugget o' the week: Englebert.

Final BOS the BeeGees, "Love So Right"
