BOS3 Larry Graham, "One in a Million You", one of the best ballads from an era when far too many were sappy, "Lite-FM" dreck.

BOS4 Boz Scaggs' "Look What You've Done To Me", ditto the above.

and in between, proxy of Dave Morey, Donna Summer, "the Wan-duh-wuh"

VHM Carly Simon's unfairly forgotten "Jesse".

LOL Casey's story about Stephanie Mills being mobbed by fans in NYC and having to wear a disguise -- lotta black queens in that crowd, I betcha. BOS5 the fab "Never Knew Love Like This Before".

Doobie clonery is an epidemic on this chart: Robbie Dupree's "Hot Rod Hearts" back-to-back with the Pointers' "He's So Shy".

Finally some Real Doobs with "Real Love"

Cheeze for Brunch award: "Xanadu"

And as I head out the door: proxy of Gaz to Babs' "Woman in Love"

NTM: the Larsen-Feiten Band (jinglemeisters extraordinaire) with "Who'll Be The Fool Tonite", yet another of the many second-rate Doobie clones of the period.

NTM as well, but I'm hearing more Boz than MM in it.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

My BOS, in a set chock-full of unfamiliarities.

almost nothing in this chart that we didn't hear 2 weeks ago -- even 2 of the debuts were extras then (Lighthouse and the Raiders).  So I'll be listening but not posting on Sat morning.

OK, a quick comment or 2: much as I love the Tops, their "MacArthur Park" is one of the more unnecessary covers ever.  Nice to hear the Bobby Russell and Dells tunes one more time. And when Casey listed stations carrying the show, one of them was ... KACY! LOL!

BOS Mr Kristofferson's majestic "Lovin' Her Was Easier"

And I'm kinda surprised "Imagine" isn't one of the extras this weekend -- it was 2 weeks away from debuting (at #20!) on the Hot 100.

I've always admired the fact that Ms Baez didn't change the gender when singing "Drove/Dixie Down", but boy does she mangle the lyrics otherwise. Seriously, Joan, WTF?

I loves me some Oran "Juice" but other than this song the '86 chart is underwhelming so I'll opt for The Drive's 10@10 Marathon (and shame on KFOG for not doing the same on 10/10/10).

The Tempts' "Unite the World" is quite the rarity, and that Five Flights Up tune is one I've def never heard before.

Yes, looking forward to hearing those two NTMs plus another at #38, Poppy Family (their follow-up to "Which Way You Goin' Billy") and I don't recall #17 by Glen Campbell "It's Only Make Believe" : http://www.oldradioshows.com/at40/101770.html

I just noticed that the "cahrismusicgroup" chart posted by the other AT40 message board, and the "oldradioshows" chart posted by Waybck are from 2 different weeks but both say 10/17/70. Hrm.

The oldradioshows chart is for the week ending October 24, 1970. The other one is for week ending October 17, 1970. Wasn't the early charts where a show on October 17th be from the October 24th chart?
