ETA: Nothing listed on their 70's thread about next week.

OK, the pre-10cc Hotlegs' "Neanderthal Man" is pretty awful, much as I love what they morphed into. Casey called that "reggae" -- ROTFL!

BOS1 Melanie's lovely "Peace Will Come".  Since we just did 1970 a month ago, not a lot here we haven't heard before, but VHMs Michael Nesmith's "Joanne", the Spinners' immortal "It's a Shame" and Elvis' forgotten "I've Lost You".

VHM Bobby Sherman & "Julie"; uber-BOS7 Ree-Ree's fantabulous "Don't Play That Song", one of my 3 or 4 favorite 45s of hers.

OMG! Casey plays Ray Stevens' "Mr Businessman" as an oldie/extra. Gawd I love this song.

WOS Clarence Carter's saccharine "Patches".

OOOPS: five mins after Casey played Diana's "Ain't No Mountain" at #2, our Canadian friends at CKRU play... Diana's "Ain't No Mountain". Short version both times.

Dang KFRC is playing last week's replay of 8/26/72, a nice chart, but I wanted to tape the 9/5/70 show!  Are they asleep at the wheel or just lazy??

I've emailed them yet again but I've never gotten a reply before so not holding my breath.

I'm passing on the '84 chart today; not terribly interesting stuff there.

Didn't have time to post comments on this set this weekend, but I'm mostly in agreement with what you said.  I'd never heard of the Elvis song, but I really dug it.  Can someone recommend an Elvis comp that covers his '70s material while ignoring everything pre-'68?  (This is blasphemy to most, I know, but hey.)

As for the Hotlegs - one of the worst songs ever, in my book (I'm overdue in updating my worst-songs-ever list).  But what would you call that rhythm?  Not reggae, true, but it's syncopated - or maybe just sloppy.  How on earth did that chart?

And as for 1984, just one comment: How on earth did Glenn Frey's "Sexy Girl" chart?  ICKIEST SONG EVER.

Yay! we finally get to hear the great "Stoned Out of My Mind" by the Chi-Lites. One of my all-time faves.  But other than that, there's not much on this chart that we didn't hear in the '73 show a few weeks ago.

Bad news for Casey-on-KFRC fans: 1550 is carrying Raiders games, and that means Casey's pre-empted whenever there's a 10am Sunday game (2-hour pre-game show starts at 8).  First example is this Sunday.

early VHM: Edgar Winter's "Free Ride" -- I'd forgotten this actually made it into the Top 40.  And speaking of forgotten, Barry White's "I've Got So Much To Give".
