Elvis' "Patch it Up" is NTM as well; let's just say it was a B-side for a reason, thankyaverramuch.

Heaven help the boy
Who won't reach 21
Heaven help the man
Who gave that boy a gun...

BOS3 Stevie's superb "Heaven Help Us All"

and from Motown sublime to Motown ridiculous: BOS4 "Indiana Wants Me", a cheezeball masterpiece if ever there was one.

Wow, vivid memories of a lot of this stuff on the radio in 1980.  Including this one, which I haven't heard since:

40  --. I BELIEVE IN YOU - Don Williams

Thanks!

That 1980 chart brings back vivid memories as I was a college senior doing two shows on the college radio station, a late night album rock show Thursdays 10PM -2AM and the Sat Night Oldies show 6PM to 10PM.  I still have my 45 of that Korgis track!

I'm listening to a Canadian station play AT40 and they gave us Don Goodwin's This Is Your Song (1973) as an extra, right before #27, where I think other audiences probably got a true AT40 Extra.  Nice one, and I assume it fulfilled the Canadian broadcasting requirement that a certain percentage of songs (30%) must be from the Great White North...
On the 11/28/70 replay heard today on KFRC SF, were the original extras as intro'd by Casey:
After #28, the #1 song from ten years earlier, Elvis' "Are You Lonesome Tonight"
After #15, a cut from the #1 album of the week, Santana "Oye Como Va"
After #9, a 60-sec promo ad for the Osmond's "One Bad Apple" (repeated after #2)
After #3, Dawn's "Knock Three Times," about to enter the Top 40 on its way to #1.

Country crossover at its finest! Mr Williams had a country #1 with that (one of 17 in his career!).   Track down his superior-to-Crapton version of "Tulsa Time".

Some of these I don't remember. I don't remember the John Cougar song (interesting story by Casey on why he had the John Cougar name especially since he eventually went to his real name). I don't remember the song at 39, 31, 28, 24 and 23.

For those interested in Casey 70's shows, you'll be losing another source. Beginning Wednesday the 25th, WBBG will be playing Christmas music. They normally play Casey's 70's show at Tuesday at 4 PM PT.

Kahuna and Wayback, I need you and Mike and any other 10@10ers who listen to these in joining me in petitioning to Jambi that we get a 1972 set sometime in the next 3 weekends.  I've been longing for 2 years to hear a set on or around my birthdate (12/15/72) to hear what the world sounded like on that day.  No luck so far.  Not optimistic now since there seems to be a black hole in recovering '73 charts of late autumn.  But we'll see.

Meantime, looking forward to "Just to Be Close to You" (Aw!!) and "Love So Right" (Bee Gees falsetto stratosphere clinic, second only to tender "Fanny").
