TOTALLY!!!  paging the princess...

no thanks. she looks like the evil anne murray channeling sue ellen in a bad anna wintour suit.

ROTFLMAO!  I think Sharon Stone should play her in the TV movie.

yeah! or jessica lange. or cissy spacek.

John McCain - Fred Willard
Hilary Clinton - Rebecca DeMornay
Barack Obama - anybody but Will Smith
special appearance by Phylicia Rashad as Condi Rice!

If he were still "available", WC Fields would be great as Bill Clinton.

This exchange took place today, inspired by an Obama comment in the debate last nite.

McCain: "I am told that Senator Obama would come back to Iraq if al-Qaeda established a base [there]. I have some news. Al-Qaeda is in Iraq. It's called 'al-Qaeda in Iraq.'"

Obama: "I have some news for John McCain. There was no such thing as al-Qaeda in Iraq until George Bush and John McCain decided to invade Iraq. They took their eye off the people who were responsible for 9/11 and that would be al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, that is stronger now than at any time since 2001."

Damn, that's what I call rapid response!

Well, Gaz'll be excited to see that Matt Gonzalez (former SF supe) is Nader's running mate. Me, I say "feh" and "feh" again.

Nader's being a damn fool, and I'm sorry to see Gonzalez taking time away from fighting the good fight to engage in this senselessly idealistic campaign.  IMHO, of course.

From SFGate's Politics Blog:

"Well, this explains why Gonzalez was so eager to see Nader run for president. Now Gonzalez, who many already suspected of being solely a self-promoter, gets to see his name in international headlines too. Even for a self-defeating and backwards campaign like this one. Yawn.

There you have it, folks: two narcissists running together to save the country from itself. They'll get 1.5 percent of the vote and fade away, mercifully, for the next four years.

Why Gonzalez didn't stick to local politics is a mystery. After he nearly won the mayor's bid in 2003, he had a solid chance to build a strong coalition and really push forward with an agenda. He could have made a big difference if he stuck to local politics. Instead, he dropped out, sulked, and waited for the chance to launch himself (not his policies) again. Now he's decided to hitch his wagon to the trainwreck that's Nader.

Hope that works out for you, Matt. When it doesn't, you've still got plenty of supporters in San Francisco who are feeling frustrated and, probably, betrayed."

To which I say: I couldn't agree more. I'm not a Gonzo fan; when he ran against Newsom he was the lefty equivalent of Schwarzenegger -- jumping into the race at the last minute, all platitudes and no plans (compared to Gavin N., who had a website full of position papers on every issue you could think of).  Then a year later he quits the Board altogether, saying he hates politics because y'know, you have to make compromises'n'stuff. Sheesh. Some mayor *he* woulda made.  He may be cute, Gaz, but he's a dick.

When he was running against Gavin four years ago, I was shocked how many women I know were all squishy down there for him. Kind pudgy, bad haircut, ill-fitting thrift store suits, and they were just ready to jump him at the first opportunity. Geek chic I guess--go figure.

I have no first-hand experience, but aren't they all squishy down there?

You're right, though - it's all about the geek-cute.  (Even the bad haircuts.)

Sort of, but not 24-7. And certainly moreso when their interests are piqued. So to speak.

I cannot stand Keith Olbermann. To me is arrogant, pompous man. He's the (NFL's Cowboys #81). It's look at me, look at me. I hated him when he did ESPN, I hate him now.

Tracy Morgan's very funny (IMHO) retort on SNL last nite to Tina Fey's support for Hillary:

"I want to know what qualifies Hillary Clinton to be president? Is it because she was married to the president? If that were true, then Robin Givens would be heavyweight champion of the world. If Hillary's last name wasn't 'Clinton,' you know...she'd just be some crazy white woman with too much money and not enough lovin'. That's where I come in. I know women like that. You don't want them answering the phone at 3:00 in the morning.

"This, in conclusion. Three weeks ago, my friend Tina Fey, she came on the show and she declared that bitch was the new black, right? You know I love you, Tina Fey....you know you my girl. I have something to say. Bitch may be the new black, but black is the new president, bitch!"
