Cable ripped right out of house!
ETA: now at work with net access, it looks like a bus or something drove by house and ran through sagging wire hanging across street!
TANC: I was cable-less Thursday thru Sunday (mostly). Came home Thursday night, got the This Channel should be available shortly message on the TV, no dial-tone on the phone, and no internet signal (we have the Comcast triple play deal). Called from work the next day, and they sent a tech out Saturday morning. My room-mate handled that as I was at the golf course -- the cable was broken off at the outside connection. I got home, started watching the first football game just before half-time. During half-time, everything goes out again. I call, set up an appointment for Monday. They come, and the cable is cut a few feet from the outside connection. Strange.
But maybe not. Alameda Power & Telecom lost a battle with Comcast for Alameda cable business. Last week Comcast took over all cable access on the island, and some people are upset. So, I'm guessing sabotage is likely, though by no means proven. Anyway, I hope they leave my cable alone for a while, as waiting on cable guys is not what I signed up for.
On the plus side, since I missed the 2 hour premiere of "24", I won't be watching that this season, which should free up some time.
