Sounds like you are definitely taking this to heart

So to speak.

Be well, Geoff!

I just got out of the hospital today:

Hopefully I can rehab in time to go back to work on the 25th.

Peace,
Geoff

OMG!  Geoff, this is shocking and I hope you are well on the way to feeling much much better!  Down with sodium!

No freakin' kidding--I noticed you weren't around on Friday for the '69 set but figured maybe you took a long weekend or something. Glad to hear you're home and doing better, but jeez, you must have been scared s***less. (Not to mention Martha and your family.) Sounds like you are definitely taking this to heart though, so that's a good thing. I could learn a bit from this as well--my diet is not the greatest.
Take it easy for awhile--your students will be there when you get back.

Heh.  Only to yourself and Martha, friend.

Take care Geoff.

I have trouble remembering to take my blood pressure medicine every morning, and this was certainly a reminder.  Also, I'm supposed to be watching my diet's salt content, losing weight and quitting the evil nicotine habit, and I hope you don't mind if I use your troubles as inspiratiion.  Let's get healthier together!

Get better and get well, Geoff!

Eat more fruits and veggies!

Echoing Rod's thoughts, every little bit of inspiration to improve one's own health is a good thing.  My issues are taking better care of my back & lowering my blood sugar.  I have lost some weight, which is a step in the right direction.

well, it reminds me of friends I've lost in the last few years due to heart attacks.  I skated this time, but "it comes like a thief in the night" and all that.  I've felt an urge to print out songs and poems in my head, instead of just letting them fade away (in more than one way!)

Glad you're with us! Never lose sight that you're worth it and don't let anyone tell you it's easy to change. It takes time and vigilance. Have fun on the road to new and healthy foods.

I have lost a little over 50 lbs. since Dec. 06. I struggle daily but it's so worth it. Every now and again I'm the recipient of emails from well-meaning friends that tell you how to recognize the signs of a stroke and little tests you can do to see if you might be having one or witnessing one in another person. I keep the emails but I think I should get reacquainted with them.

Take care!!! Be well.

My First Friday Night
« Reply #99 on: February 24, 2008, 08:36:03 PM »
Dear Friends,

It's been an amazing week since I got home, and I just wanted to share a little moment in time with you, perhaps in the hope of putting the dramatic events of my recent past more behind me.  Here's my latest blog, back to more trivial topics:

Hey, Geoff, just wondering how you're doing these days. You've been a little more scarce around the board, which I fully understand, but just wanted you to know you're in my thoughts, and hope you're getting back to a regular routine.
Let's get right to it.
