Just came back from Bryan Ferry.  Hell yeah.  I enjoyed the Solid Gold backup dancers...and Chris Spedding, too.

I'm pretty sure I was on the same BART train coming back with Dred Scott AND TC, but wasn't 100% sure.  Besides, they were with their lady friends, and didn't wanna be all HAAAAAY.   :)

What was up with the screeching feedback towards the end?

A couple of my friends who were there commented on that, too. One of them is a sound engineer, and he thought that the sax player's mic was shorting out thru her monitor. Painful for all parties, I'm sure.

I was wondering if I would run into you, SG.  I did take Bart home and we sat in the front car.  You should've def said Haaaaaaaaay and thaaaaaanks to Dred!  :)

I bought tix just that day, so it was last minute decision, but I'm so glad I went.  I would've kicked myself had I missed out.  Still, it seems Bryan either held back a bit with his vocals, or the fox sound system, which I've heard was horrible, claimed another victim.  (I don't mean the feedback problems, just the general muddiness.). Nevertheles, I was stoked to hear some RM stuff like "If There Is Something" and "Oh, Yeah."

I got a little verklempt during "Avalon".  Heheh. His covers of "Jealous Guy" and "Like A Hurricane" are just  so awesome.  But i think my fave arrangements were "Casanova" and "My Only Love."  I thought the last song, Sam and Dave's "Hold On, I'm Coming", was an odd choice, a little underwhelming. And no horn hook?  Huh?  Loved the dancers!  The left one sure did whip her hair back and forth, eh?

The Sam & Dave song is from my fave Bryan Ferry solo album, "The Bride Stripped Bare".  It's a covers album - I love his take on the VU's "What Goes On".
Dang, I wasn't sure it was you!  I wish I knew you were gonna be there - we could've all met up!  Ah, well...next time.  The truffle I had at the show hit me later and I was a bit out of it and kept thinking every other middle aged white dude was Dred Scott.  Oh, I sent him a nice email afterwards.   :)
