Goldstar is selling half-price tix for Sade @ Oracle Arena this Fri (8/26). This concert -- her first in ages -- went on sale, like, 9 months ago... and it's still not sold out??

They kept adding shows, I guess.  I'm going Friday with a FB 10@10er.  Coast to coast, L.A. to Chicago...

nice non-snarky Aidin Vaiziri interview with Sade. Girlfriend looks fab for 52!

No idea.  The opportunity just popped up, so I haven't looked into it at all.  I did see him for a few songs on the Mall for Earth Day last year when I visited Washington DC.  He's good.

He does stuff with them occasionally, but this is a solo tour afaik. I like him alot.

I think Mike's right about it being a solo tour. Hope for your sake he does a few songs from the album he did with the Roots last year. It was one of my fave albums of the year (not that there was a lot of competition, what with my limited view of things these days).  In any case, hope y'all (and Sundaygal and friends) all have a great time.
Let's get right to it.

That was fun!  Row 16, 2 seats left of center on the floor.  Best seats I've ever had at the oracle.

Legend was good.  Sade is the sexiest woman on the planet.  Smoooooooth operator!  I don't feel so good.  I am too old to stay up til 2am.  My friends rock.

I skipped John Legend, but Sade...holy smokes.  She IS the most beautiful woman ever.  Her band was amazing, too (esp. Stuart Matthewman, original band member/sax player/guitarist...wow).  If you can catch her tonight...DO.  I couldn't stay for the last 3 songs (I didn't want to deal with the last BART train clusterf*ck).  Watching her sing "Is It A Crime?" was one of the best live performances I've experienced.  I wish I could've stayed for "No Ordinary Love" and "By Your Side", though.

I'm sure Rod would agree...the outfits the audience wore...WTF/LOL!   ;) :D ??? ::) :'(

AL needs to play more Sade on 10@10, damnit!

Here's last night's setlist:

Soldier of Love
Your Love Is King
Skin
Kiss of Life
Love Is Found
In Another Time
Smooth Operator
Jezebel
Bring Me Home
Is It a Crime
Love Is Stronger Than Pride
All About Our Love
Paradise
Nothing Can Come Between Us
Morning Bird
King of Sorrow
The Sweetest Taboo
The Moon and the Sky
Pearls
No Ordinary Love
By Your Side

Encore:
Cherish the Day

Yes, Stuart was hella awesome.

Folks were dressed for the show, no doubt.  It was awesome.

And yes, MORE SADE.

BTW, Legend had an 11 piece band (including backup singers).  Very professional.

Sade had nine pieces backing her up...

a cow orker also was at the show and was equally gushing in her evaluation of both the concert and the audience fashion show. "they were wearing booty-club clothes!"
