Agreed...although I'll take "Destination Unknown" over "Walking In L.A." every time.  Tentative BOS vote.

jablamadi-Katrinada. Or a least a Dave fave/frequent flier. Wish he'd play Ms Summer's late '80s "comeback" hits in the appropriate year.

it's funny, but I just had a feeling about "State Of Independence", and here it is.

And I'm feeling Peter Gabriel-ish, but  not Shock the Monkey. Maybe Kiss of Life? I think DM's played it once before.
Let's get right to it.

surprisingly, neither is in my Db, although "Schock Den Affen" is in there once.  Then again "Shock the Monkey" has been entrenched in their regular rotation for years.

dang, too slow.

I had just noted that practically the only thing Dave ever plays from The Nightfly is "I.G.Y.", and was going to express hope for "Ruby" or "The Goodbye Look" or even "New Frontier", but now it's too late.

BOS to "IGY."  Fagen's ironic distance never felt more ironic - nor his sentiments more distant.

ETA: the first two would be bustouts, the latter is in there once, and fwiw, Dave's played the title track twice.  Otherwise it's always "I.G.Y."

I'm so bored I'm gonna BOS the Fixx. What a revelation this song seemed at the time, when the suburban NY "new wave" station (which had been on-the-air all of 6 weeks) was the only place in town you could hear it.

What's he singing on the post-chorus?  Sounds vaguely like "It's the Euro theater"?

"Waiting for a Girl Like You" was 1981, I'm pretty certain - it was held out of the No. 1 slot by "Physical" for about 9 weeks IIRC.  Nevertheless, I think it holds up well, even if many others don't.
