I'm so bored I'm gonna BOS the Fixx. What a revelation this song seemed at the time, when the suburban NY "new wave" station (which had been on-the-air all of 6 weeks) was the only place in town you could hear it.

This is a great song imho, looks like it's gonna edge out MP for my BOS vote today.

I used to have the t-shirt that one of the band members wears in this video, with a big red cross overlaid with roses & B-52 bomber silhouttes.

What's he singing on the post-chorus?  Sounds vaguely like "It's the Euro theater"?

yup. A WWII reference, I'm guessing.  (The 2 fronts in that war were often referred to as the Pacific and European "theaters")

And Donna Summer is looking like my most likely pick for BOS today. Certainly not the umpteenth coming of the Cars in the last week.
Let's get right to it.

"Waiting for a Girl Like You" was 1981, I'm pretty certain - it was held out of the No. 1 slot by "Physical" for about 9 weeks IIRC.  Nevertheless, I think it holds up well, even if many others don't.

both those songs are overlappers, I believe -- I remember a very cold Jan day in early '82, having worked the overnite at ABC, driving home listening to Casey Kasem and hearing ONJ.

Yikes, more Cars.

I don't know this "take it on the run" song, but it sounds like the "Pop Muzik" follow-up that M apparently didn't have in him.

NO WAY dave tops marcus.

Interestingly, the two weakest songs in Marcus' set were almost certainly the Missing Persons & The Cars.  So Dave plays deeper cuts from those two albums in his set, but he can't win because in each case they're much bigger Katrinas in the KFOG context.

Who'd a thunk the only bust-out of the set would have been from Billy J? Nylon Curtain was not a bad record, for the huge seller it was.
Let's get right to it.

You must be temporarily blanking.

YES!  Nylon Curtain is my favorite Billy Joel album, and "Pressure" is one of my two or three absolute favorites of his songs.  BOS!

Compared to Glass Houses it was positively brilliant, IMHO.  And we close (?) with J&V -- I'd've preferred "Friends of Mr cairo", but then I always say that.

And Jon Anderson & Vangelis sneak in with a second appearance (sort of) with All In A Matter of Time.
Let's get right to it.

Alas, Dave played the single edit, which omitted my favorite verse:

"Now here you are, in the ninth,
Two men out and three men on
Nowhere to look but inside
Where we all respond
To PREH-SHAH!~"
