HM to big Barry. now that Jamie has an Oscar, will someone PLEASE get Cedric the Entertainer to do First, Last, Everything: The Barry White Story?  Alt title : Maestro of Love.

A lovely idea.  Maybe cast Destiny's Child as Love Unlimited?

with Angela Bassett as Condi?

oh....oh. i'd never thought of that. i'm terribly disturbed now. i'm aroused, and i don't want to be!

speaking of condi, will someone fess up for writing

"who underestimated al qaeda
who lets a breeze blow 'tween her front teeth
who dropped the ball defending the free world
everyone knows it's condi"

i've written the rest of it, and i want to sing it at my shows. but i want to give credit. if no one fesses up, then i'll credit the entire 10@10 gang.

Dave must not have gotten my card in time!

alas & alack!

I called, he didn't get your email! Said he can't do belated wishes when closing the set either.  :(

I sent him a card with an interesting aerial view of the GG Bridge, detailing my idea for a Don Pardo "looong version" sound clip.  Wanna call him back & at least inquire if he's up for doing that sometime this week?

If not I still appreciate the original attempt.

EMAIL THE MAN! Say your bday was Sunday and ask for bday wishes now since "card" was lost in the mail.

I just called him & he said he really hadn't seen it yet, but that in he'd try to work in a long song this week some time.
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

Diggin' the scene wit' a gangsta lean: William DeVaughn left the music biz after this hit to become a street preacher; I think the JWs ended up with his money.  For some reason I always felt like he might be a CIA operative dedicated to keeping people in their place.
I don't care what the crankypants say!  This is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind song.  The rhythm guitare is a sublime example of R&B chording.

just so I can follow what you guys said, now that I'm home:

3/7/05 - Monday!  Time in...1974!!!

Elton John - The Bitch is Back
Wet Willie - Keep on Smilin'
William Devaughn - Be Thankful For What You Got
Eric Clapton - Motherless Children
The Jones - Sugar Pie Guy
George Harrison - Dark Horse
Bonnie Raitt - That Song About the Midway
Raspberries - Overnight Sensation
Barry White - Your're the First, the Last,  My Everything
Jackson Browne - For a Dancer

Before I read them, I can hear whining about Jackson Browne; we'll see.  I think this is a great song.

you missed my post. would i ever pass up an opp to whine about jackson? i think not. unless the jackson in question is walt willey. in which case, i'd only whine in a very good way.

Bonnie Raitt - That Song About the Midway
Is that literally the title, or is this the song from that Richard Thompson tribute album?
