a carrion bag?

yipes!  well, Spirit Airlines is going to charge up to $45 for a carry-on bag, so I COMPLETELY understand these Frauen.

btw, this reminds me of Adam Carolla's theory that all weird news stories happen in either German or Florida:

A good time for my youngest daughter, who moved to Brooklyn last fall, to be visiting here!

Hey Tinka, is SFGate having problems with the front door today?  I'm seeing a very deconstructed, almost DOS-looking version of the door that scrolls on for miles. However any articles or other content I go to looks fine. Problems with CSS? I don't have any issues with other pages so I assume it's not my browser (FF 3.5.14, OS is WindowsXP).

I've been on and off their homepage all day and haven't had any probs.

no problems on our end that we know of.. There's a chance you cached a 'bad' version of our CSS somewhere along the way. Can you clear your browser's cache and try reloading?  If it persists, can you msgs me a screenshot of the bad page?

Yikes!  At least our forecast doesn't call for "searing blasts of gas":
Indonesia volcano blasts searing gas; 100+ dead

Apologies if any of you got an e-mail from me today. Seems my address book was compromised by some kinda malware and spammed everyone I've ever corresponded with. And for god sakes, don't click it. Run your antivirus just to be on the safe side. Sorry.  :-[
