Definitely not cool:  I realize Terrance Hallinan was good friends with the Mitchell Bros, but he's saying the killing that Jim Mitchell's son is accused of was not, in his opinion, premeditated. The guy brought a baseball bat to the house of an ex-girlfriend -- a woman who had a restraining order against him -- and killed her. WTF, Terry?

Unbelievable.  Beyond despicable.

He's in overdrive slimy defense attorney mode.

The good news: they're bringing back "Let's make a Deal"

The bad news: it'll be hosted by Wayne Brady...

You're right about the bad news part.  I happened across this recently and could only watch for a few minutes.  Whereas Bob Barker seemed perpetually bemused by the things folks would say or do, Brady comes across as a more than just a little bit evil (imho).

According to Dave, Renee, Peter and Irish Greg, he *is* evil.

Also according to Dave Chappelle.

PS: Relatedly, Drew Carey sucks as Price Is Right host.  Still can't believe his underwhelming nonresponse when a contestant nailed the Showcase Showdown on the freaking money.

A suicide could quite possibly result.

But wouldn't it rather be a contract fulfillment? Every day I think I've heard the most preposterous thing I've ever heard in my life. Then tomorrow comes.

That Chapelle was hilarious! And Drew must have been on some downers.

people really are dying to save money in this economy...    HEY-OH!

thank you...

I believe the funeral home when they say they are trying to make people think about the tragedies of DWI, but they're getting some PR out of this and that's their big reason for doing it.

Particularly since the odds of them having to actually pay off are relatively small. However, what if someone who's signed up for their offer kills someone else? Will they handle that service gratis too?

prob not,  from the home paper's story, a commenter says:

"I actually called the funeral home and asked the question some of you are wondering on "Can I come in and sign the contract and if I get killed by a drunk driver, would you pay for my funeral too?", I was told no, that this was to bring public awareness to the drinking/drugging while driving problem. That they had had a family member die because of this and just wanted to make sure everyone who plans on doing this are aware of the consequences of their actions before hand I guess. Humm, sounds kinda backwards to me, don't ya think?"

The winner of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition has been stripped of his title and banned for life(!) for employing a professional wolf.
