It cut in right in the middle of The Reflex--what is this, like 1984?

Bad engineer, BAD!
Let's get right to it.

yup, it's '84.  We'll see how many songs this set shares with The Peak's 1984 show earlier.

oh it's a "set o'mystery", I guess.  Sorry, Dave we already figured it out.

BOS "My Red Joystick"!

ETA: This Lou Reed was a bustout the one-and-only time Dave palyed it, iirc.  Should be easy to figure out when this set aired, then (if it's in the shraytabase).

Yep, love this song, this entire album really. My Friend George was a particular fave, but every song on this has its moments. Lou must have really been into video games during this time--two songs (My Red Joy Stick, Down at the Arcade) about various gaming things.

Saw Lou & an incredibly hot band (Fernando Saunders and Robert Quine on bass & guitar, Fred Maher on drums) from the front row at the Warfield on Halloween 1984.
Let's get right to it.

Alas, not in the v1.0 of the SDB. I gotta e-mail the updated version to my work address.

BOS2, They Don't Know. Yeah, wish it were Kirsty's version, but it's still ear candy, imo.

"did you understand the music, Yoko?
Or was it all in vain?"

I still marvel at that line -- I'm convinced that it kept this song off WNEW-FM in NYC, a station that had had a very close relationship with J&Y.

Not just lovely. Identical. They recorded a second lead vocal track with Tracey Ullman, and subbed that in for Kirsty's, with the exact same backing tracks. I think Kirsty gets backing vox credit on Tracey's version.

I'm not remembering having heard this REM tune at all (on 10@10, that is).
Let's get right to it.
